School's Out for Summer!

Today was the last day of school. Celebrating in a Kindergarten tradition, we took the kids into the all-purpose room, had them sign beach balls for each other, and then let them loose with 'em! It was fabulous, and so very entertaining... Everywhere I looked there was something to laugh about! I hope they all have a good summer, but I know that I will miss them!!

Field Day Fun

Last Friday was Field Day at school! It was lovely (hot) weather and everyone had a great time with sack races, moon bounces, popsicles, temporary tatoos... Can you believe they pay me to do this? ;)

New Home for Budo

A couple of weeks ago, Eric & I were both in the office, when all of a sudden, he found his foot getting wet. Much to our dismay, the cause was the water pouring out of the MacQuarium! Somehow the last time it had been cleaned, the bottom had developed a small crack...which developed into a much larger crack over time. The upshot was that Budo had to live in a measuring cup for a couple of days while we searched for a new home for him.

Now he is much happier in his beautiful new digs.

And he even has a new friend (which he hopefully won't eat) a very cute little catfish named Cleo.

More from the Aquarium

I think zoos and aquariums might just be my favorite places to visit... I'm glad that Boston has such a great aquarium, as it makes up for the lack of zoo! Here are some more shots from the aquarium in Camden.

Hippos

While in Philly, we were able to check out the aquarium over in Camden (with only a brief detour of the scariest neighborhood I've ever seen!) Here are some shots of Button and Genny. If you've never seen hippos move underwater... you are missing out. It was absolutely incredible to watch.

Land of the Little People

By an odd twist, I am currently filling in for a kindergarten teacher until the end of the school year (only three weeks!) They are too much fun and way too cute. I wish I could post some of the snapshots I took today while they were playing. Almost make your teeth ache, they are so sweet. However, you will have to make do with seeing the swan boat from far away... This was quite possibly the best field trip I've had the pleasure to join!! Puppet shows, picnic lunches, swan boats, Make Way For Ducklings... Can I stay in kindergarten forever??
